Sumire, a housewife who engages in sexual relations with her husband in a position where she is on top, lives a life free of any significant dissatisfaction with her marriage. One day, her father-in-law arrives in Tokyo for a week-long stay at her home. The two share a history marked by conflict and estrangement; although he has become somewhat rougher around the edges, he is still prone to making sarcastic remarks.
